From the unused
to theatrical use

History

The Royal Academy of Arts (RADA) owned an old building in Chenies Street, which they wished to redevelop as part of the RADA Centenary project which was led by the late Lord Attenborough.

Approach

Groveworld worked with Lord Attenborough and RADA to formulate an agreement to demolish and redevelop the site providing RADA with 3 floors of much needed wardrobe and rehearsal space at no cost to them, and in return Groveworld were able to build and retain  12 apartments.  Although difficult, the planning process was successfully managed by Groveworld, and the building completed in time to coincide with the centenary project.
